Air Arabia adds new Airbus A320 aircraft to its fleet

October 17, 2004
Country: Swaziland
Client(s): Air Arabia
Air Arabia has received its new Airbus A320 aircraft – bringing the fleet to four aircraft. The new A320 aircraft, state-of-the-art and top in its class, further enables the low-cost airline to service customers throughout the Middle East, North Africa and Indian Subcontinent with its current destination list of ten countries and fourteen destinations. Arriving to Sharjah International Airport from Toulouse, France under the command of Air Arabia’s Director of Operations - Captain Mohammed Ahmed and Security Officer - Captain Nabeel Sharif, the aircraft is due to start operations later this week. Speaking on the occasion, Air Arabia’s CEO Adel Ali said: “We are constantly striving to cater to passenger needs and offer them additional value. With the introduction of another aircraft we are able to cater to more destinations as well as increased frequency to current destinations.” Also accompanying the flight from Toulouse was Jassim Al Marzooqi, Air Arabia’s Chief Engineer as well as Ismail Al Balooshi, GCAA Airworthiness Inspector. Increasingly successful in the low-cost market as well as with full service carriers, the A320 aircraft is recognised as an economical aircraft whilst combining the widest and most spacious cabins in its class that allow low-cost airlines to not only compete on cost, but on the actual product. Air Arabia’s new aircraft will offer the latest in customer comfort with the largest seat pitch in the market – that of 34 inches – in comparison to 29 and at the most 31 inches offered on most regional airlines. The A320 is the preferred choice in the single-aisle market, known for its wide seats, aisles and increased cabin storage, as well as its technological innovation that brings enhanced performance and reliability. The customer ultimately benefits from these returns with unmatched cabin comfort and economics – basically, long range comfort on short haul routes. “This new aircraft offers Air Arabia customers a superior flight experience. From cabin comfort, technology and efficiency, the A320 class of aircraft are renowned for setting standards,” added Adel Ali. Adding to the current onboard services that Air Arabia offers its passengers like in-flight duty free, the airline has also recently introduced an in-flight entertainment system offering video programs and audio channels. “The passenger comes first and we will continue to offer a superior flying experience,” concluded Adel Ali.
