Standard Chartered revamps its no minimum balance account

June 20, 2005
Country: Swaziland
Client(s): Standard Chartered
Standard Chartered, the UAE’s leading international bank, has revamped its no minimum balance, interest bearing ACTIV account to include a range of value added banking and lifestyle services. Account holders will now be given free remittances, personal accident and travel insurance cover, a Standard Chartered Classic credit card and 24-hour roadside auto assistance membership. “These benefits will deliver a feel good factor to customers who will now receive additional lifestyle benefits that have a perceived customer value,” said Jeremy Awori, Head of Consumer Banking, Standard Chartered UAE. “Our ACTIV account has remained popular since its launch in 2000, but we continually review services and products to guarantee we continue to Lead the Way as the Right Partner for our customers. “Standard Chartered is one of the few banks in the UAE to offer a no minimum balance account, which fits with our strategy of providing banking services which cater to specific customer needs.” ACTIV is a fee-based transaction account which requires no salary transfer commitment. Account holders also have access to Standard Chartered’s state-of-the-art phone and internet banking services. “This revamp follows research amongst our client base to identify precisely what benefits they seek. Consequently we have been able to listen to our clients and make this offering at an extremely reasonable price,” added Awori.
