A high- rank delegation from Jebel Ali Free Zone “Jafza” led by Mr. Hamza Al Haddad, Vice President, Marketing and Dr. Mohamed Al Banna, Regional Manager, Asia & Pacific, recently visited Iran to promote Jafza’s services and offerings in the Iranian market, and attract investors from the country to establish operations in the free zone. During their visit, the delegation held talks with several companies, especially from the food, retail and manufacturing sectors, to discuss possibilities of investing in Jafza. The delegation also met with H.E. Dr. Ali Khoram, Deputy of International Affairs and High Council of Free & Special Economic Zones, to discuss bilateral cooperation between Jafza and the free zones in Iran and the various steps to be taken to reinforce this cooperation. “Iran and the UAE share a long history of bilateral trade relations, and during the visit we highlighted the facilities and services that Jafza provides to its clients. This was certainly a very successful trip for us, as several investors across all industry sectors showed keen interest in setting up operations in Jafza to tap the potential of the regional markets,” said Hamza Al Haddad. “The Jebel Ali Free Zone has built a reputation across the Middle East and other regions, as a fully equipped zone, with state-of-the-art facilities and services for companies involved in manufacturing, trading and marketing of different products in all industries, such as electronics, textiles, automotive, engineering, food, pharmaceutical and others,” he added. H.E. Dr. Ali Khoram also invited Jafza delegation to visit any of the twenty free trade zones in Iran to discuss matters of mutual interest and extend the bilateral relations between Jafza and the free zones in Teheran. The main industries in Iran include petroleum, petrochemicals, textiles, cement and other construction materials, metal fabrication, armaments and food processing, particularly sugar refining and vegetable oil production. Jafza is currently a home for 456 Iranian companies and it continues to offer a range of advantages to companies that plan to set up operations in the zone. It guarantees to provide its clients with simple administrative procedures, zero duties on all import and export goods and machineries within the free zone, modern communication facilities and excellent support services.
