March 19, 2006
Dubai Customs International (DCI) has recently signed an agreement with the National Association of Freight Logistics (NAFL), the UAE’s representative organisation in the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Association (FIATA), to introduce a diploma programme on logistics and freight procedures for UAE Nationals.
The diploma, launched in accordance with the Emirates Nationals Development Programme, will provide an opportunity for UAE nationals to seek employment in cargo, logistics, marine and freight management sectors, in addition to assisting them in setting up business ventures in this field.
The agreement was signed by Hamed Fadhil Al Mazrooi, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Customs International and Captain Mansoor Yasin Ghafoor, President of NAFL and Vice President of FIATA, in the presence of Ahmed Khalaf Al Marri, Director, Dubai Customs International.
Al Mazrooi said that the introduction of this specialised programme was in line with DCI’s strategy of constantly building its relationship with its partners, while maximising employment opportunities of UAE nationals.
Captain Mansoor said that this programme can significantly enhance the role played by private and public sector companies in the UAE to support the Emiratisation drive and to ensure that Nationals are provided with the required theoretical and practical training to augment their skills.
