Sharjah City Centre value cards winners announced

June 12, 2006
Country: Swaziland
Client(s): Sharjah City Centre
Sharjah City Centre’s Value Card is transforming retail in the emirate, with close to 15,000 customers regularly lining up at the checkouts to present their cards in the hope of securing prizes such as the AED 100,000 in City cash vouchers won by Niveen Rajeh from Sharjah. The surge in the number of card users - following its launch just four months ago - has been sparked by the fabulous prizes and discounts open to qualifying customers. Three lucky shoppers recently won AED 20,000 each through use of their value cards, for a total of AED 60,000 in City cash vouchers. Others, such as Mrs Hawa Ibrahim who won not only the cash voucher prize of AED 15,000 but also a plasma screen TV, have seen the benefits of owning a Value Card. Mr. Emad Khawaja won AED 15,000 in cash vouchers and diamond jewellery, Mrs. Rasha Al-Asi, won a similar amount in cash vouchers and a holiday for two in Malaysia. The prizes have proved irresistible as incentives for customers to sign up for their card and the weekly draws and regular promotions held in Sharjah City Centre have become weekly and monthly events for shoppers. “The public response to the value cards has been overwhelmingly positive. The value card adds a new dimension to shopping for our patrons. We expect thousands more customers to join in the coming months, said Faud Sharaf, General Manager, Sharjah City Centre. One of the key reasons for the popularity of the card is because registration is a simple procedure. Customers registering for the Value Card receive 150 bonus points on activation of the card. Valid till December 2006, members can earn bonus points while they shop. The bonus points can then be redeemed for fabulous prizes each month, and special discounts and instant prizes for the rest of the year from participating retailers “At Sharjah City Centre, the Value card programme is managed by a dedicated Customer Service Team. Every time the value card is swiped, valuable customer data is recorded. Over the past four months, we have recorded increases of 11 per cent in customers. We have also reviewed shopping habits, spending patterns, verified consumer demographics and gathered valuable research and insights,” added Sharaf. Other winners of the Sharjah City Centre Value Card include; Mrs. Tatiana Gorgul, Mr. Uday Sawantdesai and Mrs. Anu Bali who won AED 20,000 City Cash vouchers.
