Dow announces changes in region’s senior leadership team
May 16, 2007
The Dow Chemical Company has announced leadership changes within its India, Middle East and Africa (IMEA) region that underscore the importance of the geography to the Company’s transformational growth strategy.
John Dearborn has been named President for the region. Dearborn, who is currently vice president of business development within Dow’s Basic Plastics and Chemicals portfolio, will relocate to Dubai.
He replaces Earl Shipp, who was recently appointed global business group president for Dow’s Basic Chemicals portfolio. Shipp, who was named regional president in February 2006, will undertake his new global role from Dubai – once again highlighting the strategic significance of the Middle East in Dow’s strategic growth agenda.
“As we look towards our future, it is essential that we define a leadership organization and leadership teams that will swiftly take us to the next phase of our evolution. Over the past few months, this has been my key area of focus – ensuring we have the right people, in the right places, concentrating on the right tasks, with the right levels of empowerment,” Andrew Liveris, Chairman and CEO of The Dow Chemical Company, said.
“We are extremely excited by the structure and the teams we have set in place – they will be the catalyst for tremendous change as we drive forward with the next phase of our strategic agenda,” Liveris added.
