Visitors to Ibn Battuta Mall were recently wowed by the musical talents of 12 year old Dubai resident Campbell McLauchlan, as he performed with his violin to generate nearly two thousand dirrhams in two hours for Dubai cares.
A member of the Emirates Children’s Symphony Orchestra, Campbell donated his time and extraordinary talents to the community, with crowds placing money in his violin case to contribute to the Dubai Cares campaign launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
The motivated advocate for charity work raised thousands of dollars for an African children’s charity while living in Australia, as well as playing his violin in hospital wards for the enjoyment of ill patients.
Dubai Cares’ is the latest in a line of international initiatives that express Dubai’s willingness to play an effective role in securing a better tomorrow for future generations. The campaign is Dubai’s contribution to a global drive to help countries achieve their U.N. Millennium Development Goals of providing primary education to every child by 2015.
