ASPIRE Leaps for Healthy Lifestyle

November 13, 2007
Country: Swaziland
Client(s): ASPIRE
ASPIRE Academy for Sports Excellence took part in the inaugural lifestyle and fitness festival, “LIFE - Be Part of It,” in Doha this weekend as the exhibition’s ‘Life Sponsor.’ Held at the Qatar International Exhibition Center, the event brought together personal fitness specialists, wellbeing experts, schools and sports organizations as part of a joint initiative to encourage people to work towards a healthier mind, body and spirit. ASPIRE, which plays an active role in encouraging the wider community to become involved in sport and fitness, used its participation in the event to demonstrate the benefits of an active lifestyle for everybody, irrespective of age and previous experience. A ‘high jump’ test, advanced fitness technology and examples of the kinds of interactive equipment used to train budding young athletes and potential Olympic hopefuls were all on display at ASPIRE’s futuristic stand. The full range of ASPIRE’s varied work was showcased at the event. The Sports Department demonstrated the broad diversity of sports in which ASPIRE students can choose to specialise while the Health Centre demonstrated the impressive array of high-tech equipment used to treat injured athletes and offer vistors a short fitness test in which they can win prizes for good performances. In addition, the Educational and Social Affairs team were on hand to talk about the different ways they encourage student development, while representatives of ASPIRE Active and ASPIRE Talent Centers demonstrated the positive impact of their major community health campaigns. Overall, ASPIRE’s display was one of the highlights of the exhibition, reflecting the Academy’s status as one of the most advanced sporting institutions in the world. Organisations from across the Middle East attended the event, and ASPIRE had the opportunity to talk about its mission to promote greater involvement in sport in the region. ASPIRE Chief Health Officer Dr. Manfred Dingerkus said: “ASPIRE has already recorded considerable achievements in its mission to promote sporting excellence and to extend a culture of healthy living to society as a whole. “By developing stronger links with other institutions and brands from the Middle East and beyond, we hope to assist the promotion of sporting causes in order to reap the incontrovertible benefits that fitness and healthy living have for both the individual and society as a whole. To borrow the exhibitions slogan, we truly believe that happiness comes from within.”
