IACAD upgrades its portal with Emirates Technology Company

(IACAD) wishes to upgrade its existing internet portal, based on Oracle Database to Microsoft Platform and also implement additional e-services including Charity & Quran Centers. An intranet portal is also required to improve departmental collaboration & operations. The new web portal solution will be built on Microsoft SharePoint portal server 2007, with two main modules: 1st Module targets the external users through the public web portal, which aims to enhance communication among IACAD and external audience in terms of: •Company Information sections •Interactive service including search& simple queries •eServices; Registration for B2B & B2C services 2nd Module is more focused on IACAD internal users and will provide employees with the following features: •General Collaboration Features •Web Content publishing and Management •Request processing •Departmental Surveys •Mosque affairs Management Emirates Technology Company (Emitac) - a Microsoft Gold partner tied up with Avanza Solutions - a member of Emitac group and a technology partner to deliver an efficient yet cost-effective solution in line with IACAD’s requirements. Avanza Solutions is a software & services company having global presence. Its key areas of operation cover eBusiness, eBanking, eCRM, system integration and web portal development. “We are extremely honored to be chosen for this project by the department of Islamic affairs and charitable activities and are proud to be a part of their initiative, that will provide timely and effective information to the region in particular and the world in general.” said Balall Yaqub, CEO of Emitac Speaking on the project and its importance to the organization Dr. Hamad Bin Sheikh Al-Shebani - Islamic Affairs & Charitable Activities Department – General Director stated that, this project is part of department strategic plan to develop electronic work and enhance performance of e-services and form partnerships with Emitac-a gold partner with Microsoft and benefit from its experiences to ensure proper application of Government of Dubai programs.
