3rd Regional GCC Nationalisation Summit 2008
March 31, 2008
Country: Swaziland
Client(s): IQPC
Many of the countries leading companies strongly support Emiratisation however are finding it difficult to retain top talent. Retention is a key focus for all companies across the board but more importantly with National talent. The 3rd regional GCC Nationalisation Summit, researched and developed by IQPC, has created a platform specifically for the private sector. Held 25-29 May 2008 in Dubai, Nationalisation and HR Directors will be attending from all over the GCC region. The GCC Nationalisation Summit is designed by the private sector for the private sector and focuses on how HR and Nationalisation Managers as an individual can successfully and positively impact Nationalisation in their company. This year the Director General for Yemenisation, Mohamed Y. Almutawakel, from the Yemen Ministry of Oil and Minerals, will also be attending to share best practices that have helped the oil and gas sector to achieve 90% Yemenisation. Tanmia has also recognized the GCC Nationalisation Summit as a great forum to openly discuss some of the key challenges in regards to Nationalisation and are looking forward to discussing how they can better work with the private sector to successfully drive sustainable development of National talent. They will be giving an in-depth workshop on how to successfully establish a training and development centre as they were one of the key contributors to helping establish the regionally recognised Al-Futtaim Training Centre, who will also be represented at the summit. “We are proud that we can work with so many companies and organisations to help develop National talent and are dedicated to ensuring that each individual walks away with new solutions and innovative ideas” Greta Schettler, Director, GCC Nationalisation Summit. This event presents 20 speakers from all over the region and is supported by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, Emirates Nationals Development Programme, Abu Dhabi Emiratisation Council, The UN, and MENA Business Services. “The development of National Human Resources is on the top of every country’s agenda in the region. Only by sharing our experiences across the GCC countries can we hope to achieve our common aim which is to provide meaningful long term careers for our young people. This summit provides a platform for having that dialogue and we look forward to sharing our experiences towards a greater cause, not only of a country but of a whole region.” Azzah Al Sharhan,Director of Emirates Nationals Development Programme
