German HSH Nordbank given 30 bln euros in state guarantees

German public regional bank HSH Nordbank has announced that it has obtained up to 30 billion euros (US$38.5 billion) in loan guarantees as part of a national rescue plan for the banking sector. "We are working on a series of concrete measures that will allow us to advance the future strategy of HSH Nordbank," interim chief executive officer Dirk Jens Nonnenmacher said following the deal late Friday.
