Tanmiyat Group appoints Dr. Marwan Alahmadi as CEO

Tanmiyat Group, a Middle East developer and investment company, has appointed Dr. Marwan Ibrahim Alahmadi as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Group, effective from the beginning of April 2009.
The Chairman of Tanmiyat Group, Sheikh Sulyman Bin Abdulaziz Al Majed said, “We are delighted to welcome Dr. Marwan Al Ahmadi as the new CEO, who will take charge of our activities. He brings a wealth of experience to us from his years spent in the region’s leading organizations, where he held a portfolio of senior executive responsibilities, and we look forward to his bringing that record of expertise to Tanmiyat."
“This step is part of our strategic planning to attract a highly qualified and experienced workforce in line with our fast growth on local and regional levels,” he added.

The former CEO of KSA-based Zain and the top executive responsible for heading the teams that launched its operations, Dr. Alahmadi is a renowned business and technical expert in the telecommunications sector and will enrich the real estate and investment sectors with his visionary approach to business.
“I am delighted to be taking on this role at such a fast-growing and prominent company with a portfolio of projects in KSA, UAE, Turkey, and Jordan. There are numerous opportunities that currently allow the company to continue its expansion, and I am keen on building upon the successful model and unique approach Tanmiyat has created," Dr. Alahmadi said.

Dr. Alahmadi, a Saudi national, was formerly MTC Group's Chief Strategy Officer ("CSO") with the responsibility of spearheading strategy development, corporate governance and business operations. After joining MTC in 2004, Dr. Alahmadi  led Group initiatives on strategic business planning and participated in transforming the organization from a regional entity into an international telecommunications company.

Dr. Alahmadi also held the position of CEO at MTC-Vodafone Bahrain until February 2007. Dr. Alahmadi is an internationally recognized IT expert having previously worked for Cisco as Regional Manager during which time he was awarded "Most Successful Country Manager". Prior to joining Cisco, Dr. Alahmadi worked for Toyota Abdul Lateef Jameel (ALJ) Group where he was Director of the IT division. Dr. Alahmadi holds an MSc and Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology (Atlanta, USA) in 1986 and 1990 respectively, and a BSc. in Systems Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals in 1983.

Dr. Alahmadi will be responsible for managing the Tanmiyat Group investments globally.
