Canon Middle East launches imageFORMULA DR-9050C, DR-7550C and DR-6050C Production Scanners

June 11, 2009
Country: UAE
Client(s): Canon Middle East FZ-LLC

Continuing with its tradition in delivering high-quality imaging devices, Canon a leader in digital imaging and number-one in the low-volume production document scanner market, today unveiled the imageFORMULA DR-9050C, DR-7550C and DR-6050C production scanners. These scanners deliver true high-speed scanning, capable of providing enterprises with reliable, flexible and high image-quality scanning solutions to enhance document management systems. The DR-9050C, DR-7550C and DR-6050C scanners will be replacing Canon imageFORMULA DR-9080C and DR-7580 production scanners.

Recognizing that most high-volume document scanning environments are not the same but may still require many similar features in a production scanner, these new imageFORMULA production scanners all share the same robust set of features and new technologies, with the only difference among them being the scanning speeds and feeder capacity. Whether scanning in color, grayscale or black-and-white, the Canon DR-9050C, DR-7550C and DR-6050C scanners maintain scanning speeds up to 90 pages-per-minute (ppm)/180 images-per-minute (ipm), 75ppm/150ipm and 60ppm/120ipm, respectively (A4 Portrait).

"Canon is committed to helping business in the Middle East achieve greater efficiency and cost effectiveness. Whether capturing financial documents, processing insurance claim forms, or creating Electronic Medical Records (EMRs), these scanners will bring a new level of performance to a variety of markets. The combination of speed, reliability and image quality will help any production scanning environment to reduce overall costs associated with document management and records retention," said  Audai Altaie, Senior Product Manager, Canon Middle East.

With the need for fast, reliable and precise production scanners continuing to expand, the Canon DR-9050C/7550C/6050C scanners capture fine print and other small details with exceptional clarity using three-line Contact Image Sensors (CIS) at up to 600 dots-per-inch (dpi) optical resolution and incorporate a dust-free shading mechanism for outstanding image quality. In addition, all three scanners include an on-board image processing chip, which enables them to maintain high scanning speeds even when multiple image-processing functions are enabled.
For high-volume document capture, reliability and flexibility are always among the highest of concerns when dealing with image capturing devices. Designed with Canon’s unique feeding mechanism, the DR-9050C/7550C/6050C production scanners feature Ultrasonic Double Feed Detection, Rapid Recovery and Staple Detection to help ensure reliable document scanning. Further expanding the flexibility of these production scanners, all three models include an adjustable motorized feeding tray, and can handle paper sizes ranging from business cards up to 11-inches x 17-inches, or long documents up to 118.1 inches
