UAE boat capsizes; one dead, 29 missing

One person died and 29 are missing after a UAE ship sank two miles off the Doha coast early on Tuesday morning, Qatar’s Interior Ministry said.

The ministry said rescuers pulled five people from the water alive after the ship, Damas Victory, capsized in bad weather, Qatari daily Gulf Times reported on Wednesday.

"The tragedy occurred at 6.30 a.m. when the vessel was carrying out its normal mission at the entrance of the Doha canal," an Interior Ministry official was quoted as saying.

Damas Victory was owned by Dubai-based company Demas Marine and included 24 employees of Doha-based company HBK Power Cleaning.

HBK had rented the vessel three months ago for its work providing support services to oil and gas companies.

Amazed and shocked to know that the Hbk ship was sunk in few minutes...... Definitely seems a lack of proper safety, and negligence, the qgpc should take proper action to avoid this type of accident in future. Almighty Allah resolves this disaster.
