The 8 million-year-old fossilised remains of an elephant, hippo and giant ostrich have been unearthed in Abu Dhabi, the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Sunday.
Archaeologists from Yale University and Abu Dhabi's Authority on Culture and Heritage (AUCH) have found the remains in an area of desert in the west of the UAE emirate, SPA said.
Archaeologists have previously found the remains of ancestors of the modern catfish, crocodile and turtle in the area, the news agency said.
