BASIC FUNCTION:
Coordinates with Public Relations Superintendent the development of public relations strategies and management of the development and production of communications tools, including publications, events and media relations.
WORK PERFORMED:
a.Counsels the Company and the Department management in public relations planning, strategies and communications tools to enhance the Company and Corporate images among key audiences.
b.Conceptualizes, develops and oversees all aspects of specifications for and production of professional, often dual language, quality publications and other communications tools, including trade show displays, press releases and advertisements. Managing specific media duties project editorial and event teams; directing and liaising with external suppliers for design, photography, production, etc. of communications; and researching, writing and obtaining managerial reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance with Company and Government policies on the release of information.
c.Manages public relations, advertising and media relations aspects of the Company’s participation in corporate and regional business initiatives, including trade shows, advertising, and media.
d.Helps keep management informed of external developments impacting the Company and the Corporate through daily monitoring and contacts; handles media inquires; prepares press releases.
e.Assists other Company departments as needed with public relations counseling, editorial services, and resource identification.
f.Participates in annual budget preparation, examines all quotations received from external suppliers and checks for processing invoices received.
g.Identifies training needs and resources for meeting such needs for developing management’s communications skills & GPR staff’s public relations capabilities.
h.Ensures that the established Health, Environment & Safety (HES) Measures are applied. Sets positive example regarding HES effort(s). Monitors work sites and enforce HES requirements. Identifies HES training needs and takes active part in Personnel training.
i.Performs other related duties, such as maintaining distribution lists, keeping inventories and records of publications and other communications, overseeing photography, preparing reports on activities.
Job Skills :
a.Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Arts preferably in journalism or English.
b.Experience: Six (6) years broad range of experience in publishing or journalism, preferably with an industrial company, including report writing, layout, design, and direction of photography Resourcefulness, ability to network, cultural and social adaptability are important.
c.Language: Excellent command of written & spoken English is required.
d.Skills: Very good knowledge of PC operations and familiar with MS-Word, or other electronic communication applications, such as MS-Publisher, Page-Maker etc. must be capable of interacting productively with wide range of internal & external audiences.
