Description :
1.Develop and implement store operating plans, policies and procedures in line with corporate branding in order to achieve and exceed sales and profitability objectives
2.Ensure the effective implementation of plans, policies and procedures through leadership of the store team – setting goals and objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating employees - in order to ensure the highest levels of performance are achieved.
3.Manage staff recruitment in order to ensure the recruitment of high caliber staff that enable the store to meet its objectives
4.Manage annual allocated budget, managing expenditure up to set limits, optimising and reducing costs where possible and reporting variances versus budget, in order to ensure effective store cost management.
5.Oversee the development of store operational procedure improvements in order to ensure the ongoing development of customer service provision and standards and maximum sales / profitability performance.
6.Ensure store compliance with health and safety regulations, taking corrective action as appropriate
7.Develop and maintain good working relationships with external agencies and suppliers in order to support the smooth operation of the store
8.Ensure stock is effectively measured, controlled and managed in compliance with corporate stock management procedures
9.Manage order placement / requisitioning activities in order to maximise sales and meet stock performance objectives
10.Ensure all ranges are effectively merchandised in line with Virgin brand image and standards.
Job Skills :
1.High School graduate, with 5-7 years previous practical retail work experience, 1-2 years of which should be at operational management level, ideally within the Azal retail operation, OR
2.University degree in Retail Management, or related subject, plus 2-3 years experience
3.Excellent knowledge and understanding of store operating procedures
4.Full Working knowledge of local health and safety legislation
5.Knowledge and understanding of financial planning and budgeting processes
6.Excellent knowledge of store product range
7.Excellent product knowledge across all ranges – music; video; multimedia
8.Excellent understanding of the Virgin brand and customer profile
9.Excellent understanding of layout and visual merchandising techniques
