Description :
1.To monitor Welder performance and conduct visual inspections of welds and repairs of welds in accordance with Company procedures and international codes of practice 2.To interview and select Welders and verify qualifications of Welders for project requirements 3.To monitor Welder performance and their repair rates in accordance with job quality requirements 4.To conduct training of Welders for new techniques and additional processes as per job requirements 5.To provide verification of electrodes backing and holding temperature including control and issue 6.To check, inspect and test incoming welding materials to ensure they meet job quality specifications 7.To undertake workshop verification of welding machine and electrode baking and storage to ensure all equipment meets job requirement specifications 8.To provide technical guidance for welding sequence and distortion control in accordance with procedures and job requirements 9.To conduct fit up and dimension inspections as per Inection and Test Plan (ITP) and review radiography test film 10.To check & record welding parameters and verify compliance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and technical procedures

Job Skills :
Essential: •A Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering related to NDE, Welding technology or Metallurgy. •Knowledge in the field of Welding Inspection. •Knowledge in Material Specification & Inspection. •AWS,CWI or CSWIP 3-1 •Awareness of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems. • Experience in Heavy Engineering fabrication workshop in the capacity of welding Engineering. •Experience in WPS, PQRS’s & Welders Qualifications. •Knowledge of Welding machines, accessories and selection of welding Equipments. •Familiar with SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, SAW process, knowledge in selection of welding consumable & estimation welding consumables. •Capable of managing team of welding supervisor and foreman. Should be conversant with ASME &AWS codes •Data Analysis •Communication Skills •Welding and Construction codes and standards •6 to8 years experience in the field of welding inspection and 6to8 years of overall experience in Construction (oil & gas, Refinery, Petroleum and Power Plant), Welding Practices and Non destructive testing Desirable: •ASNT – TC- Level II in RT, UT, PT and MPT
