Tickets for this year’s Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens selling fast

September 30, 2009
Country: UAE
Client(s):

Organisers of the Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens are urging fans to buy their tickets quickly.

Many of the city’s rugby fans rushed to get their hands on tickets when they went on sale on September 7. With over two months to go before the tournament kicks off on December 3, sales are already close to the 20,000 mark. And the remainder of the tickets are expected to be snapped up quickly.

“In the current economic climate, some fans were anxious that the beloved tournament might be downsized but it’s business as usual for the Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens and, after breaking all sorts of world records for attendance in 2008, we are once again looking forward to a wonderful tournament this year,” said Tournament Director, Donal Kilalea.

“Taking the fans concerns into account, we have kept ticket prices the same as last year. But they will have to move fast to ensure they don’t miss out on what always proves to be one of the best sporting and social weekends of the year in Dubai,” he added.

Tickets for the Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens 2009 are still on sale at The Sevens ground on the Al Ain Road, Emirates headquarters, the Dnata Travel Centre on Sheikh Zayed Road and numerous Costa and MMI outlets as well as online by calling Ticketline on 8004669. The  Costa outlets where tickets are on sale are: Mall of the Emirates, Dubai Mall, Festival City and Al Wahda Mall, Abu Dhabi and the MMI outlets where they are available are: Al Wasl Rd, Ibn Battuta, Mall of the Emirates and Sheikh Zayed Road. The public is reminded that a valid alcohol licence is required to enter any MMI outlet.
