Asia-Pacific Boating readies the Top 50 Superyachts of Asia list for 2009

Once again, Asia-Pacific Boating magazine is releasing its highly anticipated and sought-after Top 50 Superyachts of Asia listing in the coming November-December issue. This one-of-a-kind listing draws together the biggest and most luxurious yachts of the region, from India to the South Pacific, and from Indonesia to Japan. The 2008 edition saw the entry of the 95-metre Indian Empress, the personal yacht of Indian billionaire Vijay Mallya, entering the list at number one. Will there be a challenger in 2009? Many Asian yachts that have been kept below the radar till now are coming out to play, and the listing is expected to see upsets and surprises.
 
The past year has been tough on yachting in general, but the Asian yacht market has rebounded quickly and with a vengence. In Hong Kong alone, there are several large yachts of over 100 feet arriving over the next few months. Several of these yachts are likely to be on the 2009 list and at least two major brands will be represented for the first time. To qualify as Asian, the yachts have to be either based in the region, or stationed in the region for at least one year as of the time of list’s publication.
 
Also featured in this coming edition of Asia-Pacific Boating are reviews and insider photos of top new superyachts from Benetti, Sunseeker, Monte Fino and newcomer Jade Yachts.
