Vindemia art, antiques and collectibles gallery located in the Walk at JBR is pleased to announce an exhibition that will showcase innovative works of Italy’s celebrated global artist, Rino Valido, at Aspen in Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates. The exhibition that will run from 20th October- 8th November, 2009 from 11.00 am-9.00 pm, will highlight the growing popularity within the UAE art market of the works of avant-garde Italian artists.
The paintings of Rino Valido, one of the most interesting and talented artistic personalities in Italy, reveal a profound artistic sensitivity that springs from the soul to express itself in intensely vibrant colours, assertive brushwork pregnant with artistic vitality, joy of living, praise of nature, spiritual richness and messages of hope.
Rino Valido’s artistic exploration in the exhibited series of works entitled “Seduction is Colour” is closely connected to his graphic studies and his experience as a “cromista” (colour technician). Reds, electric blues and yellows are the protagonists of these works with pieces of damask and rags and old newspaper pages assembled in “accumulations”, as Valido himself prefers to define them.
Commenting on his paintings in the series, Rino Valido says, “If a viewer stops, just for a while in front of my works, even leaving aside the subject or title, he or she will feel their soul expand. Because the mystery of existence, material waiting to become flesh, is presented in its pure state, colour, form and light, and that is life.”
Annamaria Bersani, curator of the exhibition and Manager at Vindemia, summarizes the aesthetic path of the artist, “Rino Valido's works are really enjoyable and trigger the imagination. His works, even when contaminated by non-pictorial elements, are always balanced and timbrically functional. The colour-material plays a fundamental role in each artistic production while the pieces of material are used to provoke, but in a perfectly natural way”.
The other characteristic of Valido’s paintings are that they reflect a non-abstract approach in the representation of nature viewed through the microscope or, in contrast, from an astronomical huge distance. His contemplative spirit, and his conviction that he is a part of a pre-ordained design that has led him to bear witness to the world’s secret beauty on canvas, all distance him from the orthodoxies of the informal.
