October 14, 2009
Country: UAE
Client(s): MTE Studios

Dubai-based MTE Studios, a consultancy firm specialising in themed architecture and interactive exhibitions witnessed increased traffic to their stand at Cityscape as compared to the last two years with numerous enquiries on design, project management and art direction of themed architectural projects.

Well-known as lead consultants for the themed Ibn Battuta Mall in Dubai and for their original concept work for Dubailand as well as their world-class installations in science centres and museum galleries worldwide, the MTE Studios team also received more enquiries relating to culture and heritage projects and for experience centres as compared to previous years at Cityscape.

According to MTE Studios CEO, Ludo Verheyen, “Cityscape 2009 has been the best year for us as the real estate industry has had time to reflect on the yesteryears and what attractions made a project successful. Having a themed element within a project makes it stand out and has added value offers for the consumer and more developers within the region have come to realize this fact.”

“Being In the Middle East also reiterates our commitment to the region and we constantly enhance the knowledge of our creative architecture and design team by learning about the latest trends and technology within our industry,” added Verheyen.

“There is an increased demand from clients for inspiring architectural concepts and storyboards which we then follow up by design development, detail design, method statements, tender documentation, project management and art direction during construction. In addition to the design, we offer unique themes for mixed use developments, family entertainment centres, museums, science centres, theme parks and retail environments,” reiterated Verheyen.

MTE Studios has a portfolio of clients that include Nakheel, Dubailand, Saudi Aramco (King Abdullah University for Science & Technology), as well as interactive exhibits clients that include the National Science Centre and Petrosains in Malaysia, the Ministry of Higher Education in Namibia, the Boyden Observatory, MTN Sciencentre, SAASTA Interactive Science Park, Topkapi Palace in Turkey and the SciBono Discovery Centre in South Africa.
