Dubai-created kids TV series Nicky’s Awesome Adventures and its vibrant 10 year old presenter, Nicky , brought her one-of a kind brand of edutainment to the MIP Junior event in Cannes. The show is a mix of fun, Arab culture, traditions and a new concept Global Friendship, from the heart of Middle East.
Produced by Cardamon Assets Inc. in co-operation with Real Vision Media Services LLC Dubai, U.A.E, the series is directed by the renowned local Director, Kamal Saleh. Known for his creativity, artistic flair, production skills and high quality productions, Mr. Saleh was the Executive Producer of the youth reality series, Eish Safari on MBC3.
‘Nicky’s talent was discovered in Dubai at Real Vision Studio and the concept of Nicky’s Awesome Adventures was created and developed in Dubai as well.’ said Mr. Saleh. ‘It is a home grown product seen through kid’s eyes. In Cannes, Nicky was the Good Will Ambassador of the Arab World and put the Middle East on the map as a great international media hub.’
Randy Astle is one of the most respected film makers and television script writers in the television industry and is currently working with Francis Fitzpatrick, the creator of the six-time Emmy Award winning “Jakers!” After watching the screening of “Nicky’s Awesome Adventures” at MIP Junior, Mr Astle said “The entire production of was very well done. It was well directed and especially edited, so those folks are to be commended. It must have been a ton of work because you worked in a lot of location and showed different components of culture in Dubai; I definitely feel like I know it much better than before.”
“So the production values are high, the concept is extremely good, and Nicky’s camera presence is strong. It’s an excellent premise and should be able to fly in markets all over the world” he added.
Carmen McMillen, founder of Cardamon, the Production Company and owner of the series, is working with Real Vision and Mr. Kamal Saleh to promote the series in the GCC. She said ‘We are very pleased with the feedback from Cannes and the excellent reception Nicky was afforded. The potential to access the USD80 billion licensing market in this sector is clearly there.
The challenge for us now is to select the right partnership to help build an effective licensing program for the ‘Nicky’ concept.
