Charlie Langlais, previously Managing Director for Mercure, Novotel and Pullman in Germany has been appointed Chief operating officer Accor Hospitality Middle East, Africa, Indian Ocean and Caribbean Islands.
Charlie Langlais, 46, is a graduate of the Hotel & Catering School of Bordeaux. He began his career at Accor in 1983 and has held various functions in international operations particularly in the United States and Great Britain. In 1996, he became Director of Sales and Marketing for Novotel North America.
In 1997, he was transferred to the United Kingdom as Director of Operations for Accor Business & Leisure Hotels UK, before being appointed Managing Director for Novotel and Mercure Hotels in the UK & Ireland in 2002. Since 2006, he was Regional Managing Director for Mercure, Novotel and Pullman Germany and also member of the Executive Committee of Accor Hotellerie Deutschland.
He will replace Jean-Luc Motot, who decided to leave the Group in order to pursue personal projects, after having done an outstanding hard work in driving development in this region, especially in South Africa.
