Sultan bin Tahnoon Chairs Executive Committee Meeting

(ME Newswire): H.E. Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority, Member of the Executive Council chaired the Executive Committee meeting on behalf of H.H. Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court and Member of the Executive Council. The meeting was held Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court.

The committee approved the organisational structure of the Department of Transport (DoT) which includes new tasks and duties following the transfer of responsibility of main roads and public parking lots in the emirate to DoT.
The committee also approved a memorandum submitted by the Health Authority - Abu Dhabi (HAAD) regarding the construction of a new building for people with special needs in Musaffah area. The building will be fully-equipped with necessary medical systems and busses for transportation.

Also approved was a memorandum submitted by the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) for the purchase of two new mobile hospitals with a capacity of 158 beds. Another memorandum by the Abu Dhabi Sewerage Services Company (ADSSC) regarding the rehabilitation of sewage water treatment facilities in Mafraq, Ghantoot and Al Khatam was approved.

The committee approved memoranda submitted by the Department of Municipal Affairs regarding contracts for the management, operation and maintenance of irrigation networks, in addition to landscaping and pedestrian crossings on the island of Abu Dhabi.
 
The committee also approved a memorandum submitted by the Tourism Development and Investment Company (TDIC) to add a third lane in both directions to the bridge linking Al Hudairiyat island to Abu Dhabi island.
The Executive Committee also discussed a number of important topics and memoranda presented by the emirate's government departments listed on its agenda and related to the implementation of plans and projects.
