FVC judged Best Networking Distributor in Middle East

November 03, 2009
Country: UAE
Client(s): FVC

FVC, a leading value added distribution in the Middle East & North Africa (MENA), has recently been awarded the Best Networking Distributor in the Middle East at the 2009 Network Middle East Innovation Awards. FVC’s implementation of Polycom solutions across all its offices in the region also got the nod at the annual ACN Arab Technology Awards 2009.

FVC was recognised as the Best Networking Distributor in the Middle East at the 2009 Network Middle East Innovation Awards for its contribution to the growth of the networking industry, its focus and expansion of providing value proposition to the region’s enterprises. The award was one of 18 awards presented on the night in three main categories: project awards for the best deployments in the region; product awards for the best vendor offerings available in the Middle East; and achievement awards that recognised outstanding contributions from organisations and individuals.

K.S. Parag, MD at FVC, said, “We are very pleased to be recognised for our achievement by our peers in the industry. As a leading VAD in the MENA region, we have continued our commitment to providing our partners and their customers with over 80% of the “Top 10 strategic technologies for 2009” identified by Gartner  including virtualization, cloud computing among others.”

At the ACN Arab Technology Awards, held during Gitex 2009, FVC’s implementation of Polycom’s solutions won the Green System Implementation of the Year Award. One of 16 awards presented during the night honouring the region's top vertical projects, vendors, integrators, consultants and individuals, the Green System Implementation award recognised the reduction of 63 tonnes of carbon emissions and a saving of almost 2,700 man-hours in the last year garnered by eliminating face-to-face meetings between employees (includes all departments from sales and management to finance, logistics and HR) spread across FVC’s offices in the region resulting in a US$250,000 saving during that year.

“As a leading business in the region and a committed global player, we have a responsibility to our future generations and needed to lead by example,” continued Parag. “Polycom not only provides an excellent platform for communications for businesses but it helped us to illustrate the positive implications of using rich media by reducing travel time and carbon emissions.”
