ANKARA - The death toll from swine flu climbed to 15 in Turkey on Wednesday as the health ministry said the disease claimed four more lives.
The latest victims of the A(H1N1) virus were a five-year-old boy, two women, aged 24 and 31, and a 55-year-old man, a ministry statement said.
Turkey reported its first death from swine flu on October 24 and fatalities have sharply increased this week.
Hospitals began vaccinating medical workers on Monday, along with people who would travel to Mecca for the hajj pilgrimage, amid widespread public concern over the efficiency and safety of the swine flu vaccine.
Health Minister Recep Akdag also had his injection on Tuesday.
