A press conference regarding the status of the upcoming concert of renowned Arabic singer, Sabah Fahkri was held today, 04th November at the Salsabeel Meeting Room at the Al Bustan Rotana Dubai. Mr. Talal Al Barazi, the organizer of the said concert which was originally scheduled to be held on Thursday, 05th November at the Grand Rashidiya Ballroom of the hotel made the announcement that the said concert will be postponed to 12th December due to an unfortunate accident that happened to the famous singer.
Mr. Al Barazi started the media event by explaining that he called for this press conference despite the very tight time frame as he strongly believes it is very important for him to personally explain what has happened and give out accurate information regarding the singer to the media. He added, “In big events like this, wrong information and rumors tend to spread very quickly and I want to avoid this scenario. I want to share the correct information regarding Mr. Sabah Fahkri and why his concert will be postponed for the benefit of all his fans in the UAE who are all excited about the concert’’.
Moving forward, he explained that Mr. Sabah Fahkri figured in an accident at Damascus International Airport after arriving from a trip from Frankfurt, Germany following a European Tour that included Belgium and France. While going out of the aircraft, he accidentally slipped and fell down, with his right hand bearing all the pressure and weight from the said fall. This fall caused his right hand to be injured and fractured, and needs to be placed in cast for twenty five days, hence he will not be able to perform on the original schedule of the concert. Mr. Al Barazi further explained that Mr. Fahkri insisted on going back to Syria first instead of coming to Dubai directly from Frankfurt as he wanted to share and be part of the Syrian actors’ Eid celebration.
The Al Bustan Rotana Dubai has always been the preferred hotel of Sabah Fahkri and his concert this year would be in its sixth year for the hotel to host. Helena Al Sayed, the Marketing & Communications Director of the Al Bustan Rotana commented, “The hotel has made its mark as home of Mr. Sabah Fahkri’s annual concerts, and his performance every year is a great part of the hotel’s tradition. What happened to him recently is unfortunate and we are all praying for his fast recovery. We are all looking forward to welcoming him back on 12th December for another successful evening of spectacular performance. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the media for coming despite the very short notice and I sincerely appreciate the support you have been extending to the hotel and to our events like this concert.”
On behalf of Sabah Fahkri, Mr. Al Barazi extended the famous singer’s apologies to all his fans in the UAE for the postponed concert. The singer would also like to emphasize his sincere appreciation for all the support he had been receiving from the media and his loyal audience and in the country, as well as added that as much as he was really excited about singing for his fans here, the unfortunate accident happened. Nonetheless, Mr. Sabah Fahkri is looking forward to finally performing for his fans in the UAE on 12th December at the same venue, the Grand Rashidiya Ballroom at the Al Bustan Rotana Dubai.
