Jeddah shops fall foul of health and safety

DUBAI - Three quarters of shops inspected by Jeddah Municipality have been found in violation of health and safety regulations, Saudi daily Arab News reported on Saturday.

The municipality recently conducted inspections of 1,187 shops across the city and found 892 guilty of various violations, the newspaper reported.

Several shops were closed down for falling foul of health and safety regulations, while others were fined and ordered to bring their premises up to standard, the paper added.
