SocGen opens Bahrain wealth management unit

MANAMA - French bank Societe Generale (SocGen) said on Thursday it is opening a wealth management office in Bahrain to cater to the rich in the world's largest oil-exporting region.

The office will be headed by Chief Executive John Abraham under an investment firm licence from the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB).

Bahrain has established itself alongside Dubai as a regional hub for banking and investment management catering to the oil wealth accumulated in the region, in particular in Saudi Arabia.

SocGen's wealth management arm also has offices in Dubai and Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.
