Bahrain's inflation remains flat for Oct

DUBAI - Bahrain's consumer price index remained almost unchanged at 110.5 points in October compared to a month earlier, official figures showed on Thursday.

Bahrain's consumer price index, which is based on a basket of goods including food and rents, was 110.54 in September.

The consumer price index was 1.5 percent higher in October compared to a year earlier, the kingdom's Central Informatics Organisation (CIO) said on its website.

Bahrain inflation hit more than 6 percent in July last year, but has retreated as oil prices fell from record peaks that same month.

Inflation rates in the Gulf Arab region have eased as the global economic slowdown slashed rents, property and food prices.

Qatar's statistics authority said on Wednesday its October's inflation rate was 0.1 percent lower than a month earlier.
