Ireland’s International Trade Minister, Mr. John McGuiness, today visited Irish healthcare technology company, Valentia Technologies, which is exhibiting its healthcare software at the Emergency Congress at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. The Minister was accompanied by Ireland’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia and the UAE, Mr. Tom Russell.

The visit was part of a trip made by the Minister to Dubai and Abu Dhabi to support Irish technology companies doing business in the region.

Valentia Technologies is a leading developer of mobile and wireless healthcare technology targeted at pre-hospital emergency care and community-based healthcare monitoring and support. Valentia’s pre-hospital emergency care system, CareMonX, which is one of the most advanced in the world, is currently being deployed in Dubai Ambulance.

According to Valentia’s CEO, Peter Nelson, his company’s participation at the Emergency Congress reflects the strong interest that Valentia is receiving in its mobile healthcare systems from the UAE and greater CGG region.

Nelson said “We are very excited about the potential for mobile and wireless healthcare technologies in UAE. Although the market for such technologies is still at an early stage, the potential is considerable and we are proud to be one of the leading companies operating here. We will shortly be opening an office in Dubai Healthcare City to support our growth plans”.

Nelson added “Today we are delighted that our International Trade Minister has visited us during his busy schedule and that he has participated in meetings with business partners and prospective clients at the Emergency Congress”.
