Memon Investments, a leading Dubai-based property developer and part of the international business conglomerate, the Memon Group of Companies, has awarded an AED 55.5 million contract for the construction of Champions Tower II to Al Sarh Contracting. The announcement follows the completion of the shoring, initial excavation and foundation work on the AED 110 million tower by Stromek Emirates Foundation (SEF), a subsidiary of M`sharie, the private equity arm of Dubai Investments. Present at the signing ceremony was Rizwan Shaikhani, Joint Managing Director, Memon Investments and Eng. Emad Eddin Al Khalil, Executive Manager, Al Sarh Contracting.

Al Sarh Contracting has outlined a comprehensive schedule to ensure that the project is completed within only 18 months from the commencement of groundwork construction in March. Al Sarh has also allocated a total of 100 staff including engineers, project managers, site supervisors and construction workers to ensure the timely delivery of the tower in accordance with the contract. Eng. Adnan Saffarini Office, the architect of the tower, is expected to play an important role as primary project consultant.

Rizwan Shaikhani, Joint Managing Director, Memon Investments, said, “We were attracted to Al Sarh Contracting’s broad industry expertise, solid reputation, and history of timely project delivery, all key factors to the successful implementation of this development. We are confident that Al Sarh will meet our expectations and eventually help us meet the 2010 deadline for the Tower’s completion.”

Champions Tower II is a 13-storey tower with a total built-up area of 218,000 square feet, and offers a total of 174 apartments comprising 72 studios, 74 one-bedroom and 28 two-bedroom apartments, each with its own magnificent view of the lush greenery exuding a relaxing ambience. The tower provides easy access to an 18-hole golf course, a cricket stadium and various sport-oriented academies, rugby and football pitches and a track and field stadium. As the culmination of the sophisticated combination of luxury and high technology living set amidst a sports-oriented environment, the tower also offers a handful of modern facilities including a communal swimming pool, spa and sauna, jacuzzi, fully-equipped gymnasium and an indoor games room.

Dubai-based Al Sarh Contracting has more than 13 years of experience in the UAE’s contracting sector, and currently employs more than 700 industry experts, from labourers and site supervisors to engineers and project managers. Al Sarh has completed more than 200 projects in Dubai and throughout the UAE, with its completed and ongoing project portfolio tallied at around AED 451 million.

Eng. Emad Eddin Al Khalil, Executive Manager, Al Sarh Contracting, concluded: “We are proud to be a part of a prestigious project such as Champions Tower II and we will make sure that our resources are optimized to meet the high quality of work embodied by all of Memon Investment’s projects. We will build on our reputation as a company that emphasizes quality workmanship and on-time delivery to satisfy high-profile clients such as Memon.”
