The yen hit a historic low point against the euro on Thursday as the market ruled out a further increase soon in Japanese interest rates.
The euro hit a record high point of 159.12 yen during Asian trading. In Europe later it stood at 158.60 yen, up from 158.88 late in New York on Wednesday.
