Nakheel, the world’s largest privately-held property developer, is all set to increase the number of UAE nationals in its workforce by actively recruiting talented Emiratis at the forthcoming Careers UAE Exhibition.
Nakheel, a member of Dubai World, will be exhibiting on the Dubai World stand at the 7th Annual Careers UAE Exhibition, which is taking place at the Dubai World Trade Centre on March 13 – 15.
Nakheel is looking to attract talented UAE nationals at a number of different entry levels: starting from an internship programme through to diploma and university graduates, as well as experienced mid-career professionals looking for a fresh challenge. At each entry level Nakheel has a fully integrated UAE development programme in place for all new starters, including the University Graduate Management Track (UGMT) and University Graduate Career Track (UGCT).
The UGMT is a comprehensive development programme, with a strong emphasis on equipping staff with the practical skills and knowledge to become successful managers. A two year programme, the UGMT is intensely focused on mentoring and practical application. The UGCT is rooted in the belief that if a graduate has the right qualifications to do the job, they should be empowered from the very beginning with key responsibilities in professional roles.
Ahmed Al Banna, HR Director, said: “With projects such as The Palm and The World, Nakheel has come a long way in a short amount of time, already achieving more than most companies accomplish in a lifetime. Now we are looking to the next stage of growth. We are looking for the UAE's finest to join us and grow to be the future leaders who bring reality to the vision of Dubai.
“Here at Nakheel we are committed to offering UAE nationals more than a job. We are committed to their personal development, while providing an exciting and challenging career. We see the UAE Career’s Fair 2007 as an excellent platform to communicate why Nakheel is the region’s employer of choice.”
Nakheel also offers all new local employees the Foundational Habits of Leadership programme, which concentrates on the core values of leadership and most importantly their application.
Ahmed Al Banna said: “The Foundational Habits of Leadership programme provides practical knowledge and skills that can be applied immediately; it recognises that working for a company with an international outlook in one of the world’s most cosmopolitan cities, it is vital that employees have both a knowledge of local and international business practice.”
With more than 1,100 employees, Nakheel currently has 14 major projects worth more than US$30 billion under development, including The Palm Jumeirah and The World. Nakheel is part of Dubai World, a world-class holding company and growth engine for the Emirate, with more than 50,000 employees and offerings in more than 100 locations.
