Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) has announced its participation at IMEX 2007, the worldwide exhibition for meetings and incentive travel market, taking place in Frankfurt, Germany from April 17 – 19, 2007.
ADNEC’s display is included in an extensive pavilion being staged by the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) to promote the emirate’s development and its potential as a hub of the world meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions (MICE) industry. ADNEC will use the event to showcase its remarkable achievements over the past 12 months and its development plans for the next 5 years.
ADNEC recently opened Phase 1 of its state-of-the-art exhibition centre in the UAE Capital City. The venue, considered to be the most modern in the world, took only eight months to construct. An equally rapid pace is expected for ADNEC’s next stage of development which includes the construction of Phase 2 of the exhibition centre, the creation of a new gravity defying iconic tower and the emergence of a new micro-city of residential and commercial towers.
Commenting on ADNEC’s participation at IMEX 2007, Simon Horgan, Chief Executive Officer, ADNEC said, “Something very special is happening in Abu Dhabi and international shows such as IMEX 2007 are a great vehicle for us to communicate this. I am very pleased that we are at this show in association with the ADTA as this highlights the extremely close relationship that is enjoyed between two of Abu Dhabi’s most important generators of tourism.”
“Having recently opened what is being described as “the world’s most modern exhibition centre” ADNEC will be presenting its state-of-the-art facilities and exciting development plans to an expected audience of more than 14,000 industry professionals from around the world,” Horgan added.
In a recent study at the GIBTM exhibition, Abu Dhabi was tipped as one of the Arabian Gulf's high fliers over the coming year for the MICE industry and the UAE Capital City is expected to become the region's second highest meetings industry performer over the coming 12 months.
When fully complete in 2008, ADNEC will provide 55,000sqm of fully interconnected exhibition floor space, making it one of the largest exhibition centres in the Middle East.
ADNEC is located at stand number E520 at IMEX 2007. In addition to IMEX, ADNEC and the ADTA will be participating at shows in the UK, Spain, France, Japan and Russia over the next 6 months.
