Senior officials from the Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone (RAK FTZ) received yesterday a high level delegation from Alexandria Business Association of Egypt.
The visiting delegation presided by Dr. Mohammed Baha'a Al Dine Ghantouri, the association's Vice president comprised also scores of Egyptian business people and investors who called on the RAK FTZ to further strengthen business cooperation between the zone and Egypt.
The visiting delegation was received by Oussama El Omari, the zone's CEO, Maryam Al Murshidi Al Shehi, the zone's Assistant Director and Saeed Al Nuaimi, the Deputy Director General of the Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry along with a number of businessmen.
The visit aimed at widening the scope of cooperation between the Ras Al Khaimah and Egypt and introduced the visiting delegation to the business and investment opportunities in the emirate.
The delegation was also briefed on the key role the RAK FTZ which has successfully attracted and registered major international companies that are currently undertaking vital projects in various sectors in the emirate. The RAK FTZ has proved to be a key player in the comprehensive economic development of the emirate.
Welcoming the visiting delegation, El Omari said the RAK FTZ is keen to enhance the economic and business activities with the various countries, in a way which serves bilateral investment relationships.
El Omari highlighted the importance of forging the business ties with the Egyptian business community, provided that the Egyptian companies in RAKFTZ represent more than 10% of the total number of companies.
Al Nuaimi said the RAK Chamber of Commerce and Industry is ready to provide the Egyptian investors with all the necessary, needs, support and facilities to bring their investment in the emirate to real success. He stressed that the chamber will provide the Egyptian investors with all information to enable them enter the UAE market easily. He added that the chamber and the RAK FTZ have joined forces to end Ras Al Khaimah up as regional investment hub.
As a part of its abroad marketing campaigns, a delegation from the RAK FTZ will soon travel to Egypt to conduct marketing road show introducing the Egyptian investors to the state of the art services and facilities the zone provides to its companies.
The zone's delegation will be in Cairo on May 15-18 at the J.W Marriot and in Alexandria on 19-22 at Sheraton Al Muntazah for the marketing road show. The Egyptian chambers of commerce and industry and a large number of business associations have already been invited for these campaigns to give them special offers.
