Manchester United Soccer Schools (MUSS), in partnership with Dubai Sports City, hosted a parent activity session this month to introduce parents to the MUSS philosophy, which aims to generate healthy and active lifestyles amongst children in the region.
As an important part of the coaching process, the MUSS program, which was launched in Dubai in 2005, encourages healthy living amongst its participants both on and off the field.
“Manchester United Soccer Schools have always placed great importance on integrating into the local community and an important feature of our program here in Dubai is the active involvement of the parents,” said Andy Dixon, Head Coach at Manchester United Soccer Schools in Dubai.
“Part of the MUSS philosophy is to create relationships with parents and guardians of young players, explaining and communicating our objectives clearly, and the parent activity sessions provide us with an ideal opportunity to do this,” Dixon added.
During the session, parents were given an insight into the Manchester United Soccer Schools’ history and philosophy, in which children are encouraged to develop a lifelong passion for physical activity and sport. Parents were also given information about the importance of a balanced and nutritious diet, and encouraged to help their children develop good eating habits. This was followed by a fun football activity session, in which the parents had the opportunity to experience the type of training that their children do on a weekly basis on the MUSS program.
This season’s Manchester United Soccer Schools program in Dubai is being presented by title sponsor Nestle Milo along with supporting sponsors Pepsi and SNTTA. Dubai Sports City Football Academy is the home of Manchester United Soccer Schools, Dubai.
