Airlines have shown no tendency to cancel aircraft orders because of rising fuel costs, the head of European aerospace group EADS said Tuesday.
"The link between fuel costs and the (financial) situation of airlines is a matter we are closely following," European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company chief executive Louis Gallois told a press conference.
"We have seen no cancellations or postponements of orders."
Many airlines are currently grappling with a rising fuel bill, reflecting record high crude oil prices, and have had to raise their fuel surcharges on passenger tickets.
Airbus, EADS' aircraft manufacturing unit, expects to receive more than 700 orders this year.
From January to March Airbus booked 395 orders.
