India’s Videocon Industries has been approached by Middle Eastern telecom companies Etisalat and Qatar Telecom (Qtel) for tie-ups in India, the firm’s chairman claims. The diversified Indian group has received licences to provide telecoms services across the country, and will roll out services in southern India beginning mid-August, Venugopal Dhoot told reporters on the sidelines of a conference yesterday.
