Kuwait's Ministry of Electricity and Water (MEW) has ordered a new high-voltage gas-insulated substation from AREVA T&D. The total value of the contract is €36million (US $56million). The unit will be installed in the Saad Al Abdallah region in the north of the country and will serve a new residential area being developed close to the Iraqi border. Startup is set for April 2010.
