The eagerly awaited RetailME Awards 2005 ceremony, held on February 26th, was the first event of its kind in the Emirate and was held under the patronage of Her Excellency Sheikha Lubna Bint Khaled Al Qasimi, UAE Minister of Economy. The RetailME Awards recognize retail excellence and there was fierce competition for the top places in 14 categories of the industry. For winners, the result is prestige and the right to parade their status before their customers and the public for the next year. The judges had a hard time selecting the final winners because of the overall high quality of the entrants. The results were audited and officially announced by Ernst & Young.
