Sponsorship Manager
Job Title: Sponsorship Manager Division: Conferences Department: Group Sales – Sponsorship Reports to: Group Sales Director Profile The Sponsorship department works across the board of all IIR ME's conferences. With over 70 conferences a year we sell on various sectors including Finance, Business Management, Human Resources, Sales and Marketing, Property, Technology and Health & Safety. In 2007 the department achieved US$2.7m in sponsorship revenue and a 35% increase in sales year on year across the board of IIR ME's events. Job Purpose:
To lead, manage and drive through the successful planning and execution of the entire lifecycle of each event assigned to the role holder
To achieve revenue and profit targets
To maintain existing and develop new customer relationships with regional and international sponsors
To bring companies on board as sponsors and/or exhibitors for Stage 1, Annual and Large Scale Events Key Performance Indicators: آ· Achievement of sales revenue/profit targets
Successful event management
Management of event budget
Number of calls made per day
Time of call duration
Effective co-ordination with Production and Marketing
Growth of existing portfolio by generating new ideas Main Tasks & Responsibilities Sales آ· Drive through the achievement of sales revenue/profit targets آ· Continue to build strong relationships with current and potential clients both pre and post event آ· Manage and maintain strong relationships with agents representing the event to ensure the achievement of revenue targets for each event آ· Manage and maintain existing policies and procedures for the unit Event Management آ· Set up a sound and workable project plan for each event with clearly defined timelines آ· Plan, prepare and monitor annual budgets for the event with strict adherence to revenue and cost ensuring achievement of profit آ· Oversee the development of an event floor plan آ· Liaise with the Sales Administrator and Operations Manager to ensure that all logistical and operational aspects of the event and sponsorship elements are met آ· Ensure collection of payments by regular communication and coordination with the Accounts department General آ· Continually monitor and research the market آ· Identify and attend competitive events where appropriate آ· Database clean and build آ· Completion of weekly sales reports and daily updates of the event pipelines آ· Perform any other duties commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility Person Specification Minimum Education Level Required
Educated to degree standard or equivalent Background Knowledge, Skills & Experience Essential
Minimum of 2 years sales experience with a demonstrated successful sales record of high value sales activity
Full understanding of event sales cycles
Speaks and writes clearly and fluently in English to both individuals and groups
Computer literate and proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel
Commercial awareness Desirable
Spoken Arabic
